Syracuse players Buddy Boeheim, Jimmy Boeheim and Cole Swider line up NBA workouts

Syracuse, NY ― With less than three weeks before the NBA holds its annual draft, three former Syracuse players are busy lining up workouts with NBA teams.

Buddy Boeheim, Jimmy Boeheim and Cole Swider have each participated in at least one workout with an NBA team this week with many more expected to take place in the coming weeks.

Buddy and Jimmy Boeheim both have workouts today, according to a source. Buddy, a 6-foot-6 guard, will work out for the Los Angeles Clippers today, while Jimmy, a 6-9 forward, will be working out for the Atlanta Hawks.

Earlier this week, Buddy took part in a workout with the Portland Trail Blazers. Jimmy Boeheim held a workout with the New York Knicks along with Texas guard Andrew Jones.

Teams that had previously reported workouts for Buddy Boeheim included the Golden State Warriors, the Sacramento Kings and the New York Knicks.

Meanwhile, Cole Swider, a 6-9 forward, has worked out for the Los Angeles Lakers, the Milwaukee Bucks and the Atlanta Hawks.

In a text message, Swider said that he had upcoming workouts scheduled with Sacramento, Boston, Washington, Portland and Brooklyn.

None of the three former Syracuse players appear on any current mock drafts; however, there remains the possibility of moving into the second round. If they aren’t drafted, all three could have opportunities to play in the NBA’s summer league and perhaps earn an invite to an NBA team’s training camp.

Buddy Boeheim led the ACC in scoring this past season with 19.2 points per game. He made 34% of his 3-point attempts. Jimmy Boeheim, who began his career at Cornell before playing one year at Syracuse, averaged 13.7 points and 6.2 rebounds per game.

Swider, a transfer from Villanova, scored 13.9 points per game. He connected on 41.1% of his 3-pointers, going 81-for-197 from beyond the arc.

Buddy Boeheim and Swider both turned down the opportunity to return for an additional year of college basketball.

The NBA draft will be held on June 23.
